About Our Office

Picture of Binghamton University students

The Office of External Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards works with undergraduate and graduate students to identify funding opportunities and then assists them during the application process. These types of funding are provided by foundations and agencies external to Binghamton University. They are awarded on the basis of broad-based competition among students nationwide, not just among Binghamton students. Fellowships and scholarships come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from the widely recognized Rhodes Scholarship to funding opportunities for summer internships.

If you have an outstanding record of academic and/or extracurricular achievement, you should explore the scholarship/fellowship opportunities available to you. As a start, read over the Brief Guide to Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships, Fellowships & Awards. If you have not already done so, check out sites that allow you to search for opportunities. Some excellent places to start are:

Then, fill out and submit the Student Profile Form on this site. The information on the form will help initiate a dialogue as we work together to identify funding opportunities for you.
